An Evaluation of Speaking Materials in Think Globally Act Locally Textbook for Ninth Grade of Junior High School

This research was intended to observe, evaluate, and discover the quality of speaking materials which appear in Think Globally Act Locally textbook for ninth grade junior high school published by Ministry Education Culture 2018 revised edition. Researchers evaluated using Scott’s theory good materials. It conducted descriptive qualitative design. The object textbook, specifically whole on that book. instruments consisted evaluation table, documentation, interview. data were collected through six necessary steps, included (1) read thoroughly, (2) find out all materials, (3) observe found, (4) identify regarding four criteria, (5) report (6) present detail. result this study showed there 40 found 30 them filled category “good”, 10 others reached “sufficient”. In conclusion, overall classified as good. Therefore, researchers recommend be implemented main source activities classroom interaction.
